I AM IRON MAN!!!

Finally found time to take pics and get down to posting this entry. Found out that Iron man figures are out and rushed down to C4 at Suntec to grab them b4 they are sold out on Tuesday after school ended at 1730 for me.

Despite the fact that forumers from sg******t claimed that stocks are plentiful and that there's bound to be pegwarmers resulting in lelong, I refused think so cos I was 'sold out' by them on the previous McFarlane's Simpsons Island of Dr Hibbert. And thus on that sunny Tuesday evening, I was happily rewarded with all five 6" figures and a 12" Iron man.
Was delighted to find out from the forum that this time, Iron Monger, Mk 1 and 2 are practicllay sold out everywhere and collectors have been desperately searching for them. Glad that I didn't wait. At least I don't have to go seeking and having to by from scalpers in future. Even if it's true and the figures go on lelong in future, I'm happy to own them now...:)

Lard Lad

Went to CSC today. Saw Lard Lad priced at 4 reds. Owner gave me a green discount if I pay by cash. So in the end, it was a very good buy since I last saw it priced at 6 reds and 1 green.
Asked around for Island of Dr Hibbert and was told by every shop that it's SOLD OUT! Couldn't believe it as I have been waiting around for it for a long time and I haven't seen it around anywhere else. Anyway, guess I have to source for it elsewhere...Evilbay?

The Horror, the Horror

It's been a long time since I've posted anything. Mainly due to the fact that there hasn't been any 'good' releases lately from Marvel Legends X Men...

Anyway, was tempted by J to go to the Hasbro Toy Sale at SAFRA Toa Payoh. Headed down immediately after work only to find a few familiar faces already there. It seems that some of them have been there since morning. We assummed that the good stuffs are probably snatched up already.

The funny thing is, the staffs there apparently 'dispose' Hasbro transformers in batches. And we, are like vultures, rushing forward to grab whatever we can once a staff pushes out a carton of toys on sale. However most of the time, J and I lose out to the others who brought help with them. But none the less, we managed to grab 2 pieces of transformers. J will most likely post his purchase in his blog soon...:) I'm just quite horrified by how desperate these collectors behave...

J managed to grab onto a white Mazda RX transformer too (can't remember the name) which we didn't buy in the end. I wanted him to throw it into the air so that we can both watch the other vultures rush, push and lurge forward to get their hands on this 'precious' item. Too bad, J was too nice and passed it to a fellow collector, who has been watching us debating whether to buy, with watchful eyes. I'm sure it would have been a sight to behold should we really throw it into the air...ahahahahah!

Completing the Collection...

Finally got hold of Hasbro Marvel Legends ICONS Silver Surfer from yahoo auctions. Cost me $48. Quite reasonable considering that collectible toy shops out there are selling at $60-70 a piece. Nice to have completed my Fantastic 4 ICONS collection. Now I'll just have to wait for Hasbro's ICONS Phoenix and Colossus series...

Fanning the Flames...

Was at Suntec Carrefour over the weekends and saw these two Marvel Legends ICONS Human Torch-es. Excuses that I thought of for not buying them:
  1. Waste of money

  2. I don't really like Fantastic 4

  3. I collect mainly X Men figures

However, I also came up with several reasons for buying them at that moment:

  1. I may end up regretting not buying

  2. They are at retail price of $39.90!!!!

  3. I'm ending my 6" figures collection cos Hasbro Marvel Legends 6" series really sucks.

  4. They are quite cool and it's really rare to come across both Human Torch and its variant.

Couldn't resist myself and bought the Human Torch and the varient Phasing Human Torch. They literally burnt quite a big hole in my wallet with their flames. Think after my Toybiz Marvel Legends 6" X Men figures collection is complete, I shall concentrate on only my 12".

Now...shall I get Silver Surfer to complete my collection??? Muahahaha! Flame On!

And the Search Continues...

Finally got my hands on Marvel Legends Icons Hasbro Wolverine. Bought it at a hefty sum of $69.90 from Simply Toys at Suntec City. No choice. It's either here or Ebay.

Been wanting to get a masked Wolverine Icons Series. It's either the Hasbro or Toybiz version. Since I already have the unmasked from Toybiz and not wanting to appear like a spendthrift by getting duplicates, getting the Hasbro masked version will greatly justify my expenditure. Hehe!

Sorry guys. Still trying to perfect my photography skills. Hehe! Lousy camera...:P

The Beginning...

It all started with a simple little trip to a simple little toy shop at Shaw Towers at Beach Road. JL was browsing through some toys and that's when I spotted the loose pieces of Marvel Legends Sentinel Series Cyclops and Mr Sinister. Absolutely cool... I bought them both at $10 each and that's how I began this very expensive and sinful hobby of toy collection. *damn you, JL...* Hahahaha!
